Pythian Council
Oracle program upgrades, cross-chain verification, and data request fees.
Mandate
The Pythian Council is in charge of approving oracle program updates or changes to the data request fees. As defined in the adopted Pyth DAO Constitution, the Pythian Council is made of 8 members who are signers of the Pythian Multisig Wallet. The Pythian Multisig Wallet has powers to perform actions that are delegated to it by the Pyth DAO.
Operational authority
- Upgrade of the oracle program
- Upgrade of the verification program for each blockchain where Pyth data is accessible
- Setting of data request fees per blockchain, and other protocol or network fees
- Management of PGAS allocation and delegation to validators

Role in governance
The Pyth DAO operates through three councils plus token-holder voting on Realms. Each council has a narrow, Constitution-defined mandate; DAO-wide changes (Constitutional amendments, treasury, council elections) go to a PYTH staker vote.
